Learn from the official guide
GOV.UK says the test covers information in the official Guide for New Residents. Use it as your primary source; supplementary quizzes help you practise recall, but do not replace the guide.
Know the format
You have 45 minutes to answer 24 questions and need 75% or more to pass, equivalent to 18 correct answers. Practise reading questions carefully, not just recognising familiar words.
Book and bring the right ID
Use the official booking service linked from GOV.UK. The published fee is £50 and booking is required at least 3 days ahead. Follow the current accepted-ID rules and bring the same original ID used for booking. Requirements can change; verify them directly before test day.
